La canción está basada en la melodía de fondo Thanatos, una pista instrumental empleada en la serie original. Fue lanzada el 1 de agosto de 1997 como parte de la banda sonora de la película. Más tarde fue remezclada como "THANATOS -IF I CAN'T BE YOURS- “Nine Years After Mix" y lanzada como single en el año 2006.
